Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most frequently asked questions about this content

Which wavelengths does the Megatron 4D Diode use?

It combines four wavelengths in one device: 755, 808, 940 and 1064 nm.

Why is it called an ice laser?

The sapphire tip touches the skin and keeps the surface cool throughout; semiconductor, airflow, water and TEC-assisted cooling support this.

Can it be used on darker skin?

The 1064 nm wavelength reaches deeper and allows safer settings on darker skin. Suitability is confirmed with a patch test.

Are settings personalised?

Yes. With a 1–10 Hz frequency range and 10–100% intensity, parameters are chosen for hair thickness, skin tone and body area.

Which areas is it used on?

All body areas for women and men, including the face, underarms, arms, legs, back, beard line, bikini and intimate area.

What Is the Megatron 4D Diode?

The Smart Megatrone 4D Diode is the sapphire-tip diode ice laser we use for hair removal at our salon. Its defining feature is four wavelengths (755, 808, 940 and 1064 nm) in a single device, so settings for fine or coarse hair and fair or dark skin don't depend on one wavelength alone.

What Do the Four Wavelengths Do?

In laser hair removal, light targets the pigment (melanin) in the hair root. The wavelength determines how deep the light reaches and how strongly pigment absorbs it. In general:

WavelengthTypical use
755 nmStrong pigment absorption; fair skin, finer and lighter hair
808 nmThe classic diode wavelength; balance of depth and absorption
940 nmDeeper roots; medium and olive skin
1064 nmThe deepest-reaching wavelength; darker skin and coarse hair

Having all four lets settings be built around each person's hair thickness and skin tone. For a comparison with other laser types, see Alexandrite vs diode.

Advanced Cooling

Cooling relies on several layers working together: semiconductor cooling, airflow, water output through macro channels, a sapphire tip and TEC-assisted cooling. The sapphire tip touches the skin and keeps the surface cool throughout, which is where the name "ice laser" comes from. The aim is to protect the skin and minimise discomfort. Personalised Settings: Frequency and Intensity

The device offers a 1–10 Hz frequency range and laser intensity adjustable from 10% to 100%. This flexibility allows different parameters for, say, a dense, coarse back and a sensitive facial area. Settings are chosen from the hair analysis and patch test at the first visit and updated as hair density changes.

Is the Device Enough on Its Own?

How a device is used matters as much as what it can do. Results depend on personalised settings, keeping to session intervals and following before-and-after guidance. That's why every plan starts with a free hair analysis and patch test. For the full process at our salon, see laser hair removal in Şişli.
