A pedicure is professional care for your toenails and the skin on your feet. If you spend long days in closed shoes, walk a lot around the city or want your feet ready for sandal season, a regular pedicure makes a real difference to how they look and feel. At Renew & Revive Beauty on Abide-i Hürriyet Avenue in Şişli, every pedicure is done with sterilised tools, fresh water for each client and single-use files. We are easy to reach from Mecidiyeköy and Nişantaşı.
What Is Included
We trim and shape your toenails, care for the cuticles, gradually smooth hard skin on the heels and soles, and finish with moisturiser. Toenails are cut straight across with only the corners softened, which avoids the deep corner cuts that can encourage nails to grow into the skin.
Step by Step
- Check: we look at your nails, heels and any polish or gel you are wearing.
- Foot soak: warm water softens the skin so the rest of the treatment can be gentle.
- Trim and shape: nails are cut straight and the edges filed smooth.
- Cuticle care: cuticles are softened and pushed back; only loose dead skin is removed.
- Heels and hard skin: dry, thickened skin is buffed down step by step with suitable files.
- Scrub and moisture: a scrub, rich cream and a short massage to finish.
- Polish: classic polish, or a gel pedicure that can last 4-6 weeks.
Who Is It For?
- Dry heels that tend to crack
- Anyone on their feet all day or in closed shoes
- People who find it hard to cut their toenails neatly
- Before summer, a holiday or a special occasion
- Men as well as women - foot care is for everyone
Timing and How Often
A classic pedicure takes about 40-50 minutes. Toenails grow more slowly than fingernails, so every 3-4 weeks is enough for most people; if your feet sweat a lot or you build up hard skin quickly, you may want to come a little more often. Want your hands done too? Pair it with a manicure on the same day.
Aftercare
- Massage foot cream into your heels every evening; cotton socks on top help it work.
- Never use razors or sharp tools on hard skin at home - it is easy to cut yourself.
- Cut toenails straight across and avoid digging into the corners.
- Dry carefully between your toes after showering.
When to See a Doctor First
If you have diabetes, circulation problems or reduced feeling in your feet, please check with your doctor before a pedicure and let us know when you book. Ingrown toenails, suspected fungal infection, painful or inflamed areas, deep corns and warts need medical assessment and treatment; we don't treat these at the salon. If we notice something like this, we will tell you straight away and suggest postponing.
For colour that stays put for weeks, see our gel pedicure; for removing old gel without damaging the nail, see nail removal. Thinking of taking gel off at home? Read How to Remove Gel Polish: Common Mistakes first. All our services are on the nail care page.
