Our Hygiene & Safety Protocol

Our Hygiene & Safety Protocol

Single-use materials, handpieces and tools cleaned after every client, sterilised nail tools and a suitability check before every treatment.

Why We Wrote This Page

“Is it hygienic?” is usually the first question people ask when choosing a beauty salon, yet the answer often stops at an advertising line. We wanted to spell out what we do, when we will not go ahead with a treatment and what you are entitled to ask. Renew & Revive is a beauty salon on Abide-i Hürriyet Caddesi in Şişli offering laser hair removal, skin care, body contouring and nail care; we do not perform medical procedures.

Rules That Apply to Every Service

  • Single-use materials: items made for single use are never used on the next client.
  • Cleaning after every client: device handpieces and tools are cleaned after each client.
  • Assessment before treatment: nothing starts “straight away”; we first talk through whether the treatment suits you.
  • Referral when a doctor is needed: if something calls for a medical opinion, we postpone the treatment and refer you to a doctor.

Safety in Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal can irritate the skin if settings are wrong, so the process always starts with an assessment:

  1. Consultation: hair type, skin tone, any medication and recent sun exposure are discussed.
  2. Patch test: we check how a small area of skin responds and how it feels. This is part of our free hair analysis appointment.
  3. Personal settings: on our Megatron 4D Diode, which combines 755, 808, 940 and 1064 nm wavelengths, settings are chosen for your skin and hair type; the sapphire contact handpiece cools the skin during each pulse.
  4. When we postpone: pregnancy, an active infection or open wound in the area, recently tanned skin and certain photosensitising medications may mean waiting. If hormonal hair growth is suspected, we recommend a doctor's assessment first.

For before-and-after rules see laser hair removal in Şişli.

Hygiene in Nail Care

Nail treatments are where tools pass from one person to the next, so our strictest rules apply here:

  • Nail tools are cleaned and sterilised after every client.
  • Files and buffers are single-person items.
  • If there is a fungal infection, an infection or a painful swelling, we do not treat the nail and refer you to a doctor.
  • We prepare the natural nail without over-filing; a thinned nail is more prone to breaking and to infection.

See all our nail services on the nail salon in Şişli page.

Safety in Skin Care and Body Contouring

Before a facial, a skin assessment is done to confirm suitability. If there is an active infection, an open wound or fresh irritation, the treatment is postponed. For body contouring we ask in advance about pregnancy and breastfeeding, a pacemaker or metal implant, heart, kidney or liver disease, ongoing cancer treatment and hernia in the treatment area. If any of these applies, the treatment is not done or waits for a doctor's approval.

Questions You Can Always Ask

Whichever salon you visit, you are entitled to ask the questions below. We will always answer them:

  • Was this tool used before me, and how was it cleaned?
  • Is this file and buffer just for me, or shared?
  • Does my medication or health condition rule out this treatment?
  • What should I watch for afterwards, and when should I come back to you or see a doctor?

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most frequently asked questions about this content

Are nail tools sterilised for every client?

Yes. Nail tools are cleaned and sterilised after every client, and files and buffers are single-person items.

Is the laser handpiece cleaned between clients?

Yes. Device handpieces and tools are cleaned after every client.

When do you not go ahead with a treatment?

If there is an active infection, open wound, nail fungus or painful swelling in the area, or for laser, pregnancy, freshly tanned skin or photosensitising medication, we postpone the treatment.

Why is there a patch test before laser?

A patch test lets us see how your skin reacts to the chosen settings and how it feels on a small area, so the settings are based on observation rather than guesswork.

Do you perform medical procedures?

No. Our salon offers beauty and care services, not medical procedures. When a situation calls for a doctor, we refer you to one.
