What Is Genosys? A Guide to Professional Cosmeceutical Treatments
Short answer: Genosys is a cosmeceutical (cosmetic plus active ingredients) skincare brand developed in dermatological laboratories in Korea and used by skincare professionals worldwide. Rather than a single product, it offers treatment protocols designed for specific skin needs. Our salon offers three Genosys protocols: Anti-Aging for fine lines and loss of elasticity, EyeCell for a tired, dehydrated eye area, and SnowCell for uneven tone and the look of dark spots.
What Does Cosmeceutical Mean?
Cosmeceutical describes skincare that sits between cosmetics and medical treatment: products whose active ingredients and formulation are designed for professional use. They are not medicines; their purpose is to support the look and condition of the skin. In professional use, the difference lies in applying the products in the right order and amount, based on a skin analysis.
Genosys Protocols in Our Salon
| Protocol | Targets | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Genosys Anti-Aging | Fine lines, loss of elasticity, dullness | Anyone wanting early care for signs of ageing, tired and lacklustre skin |
| Genosys EyeCell | Tired look, the appearance of dark circles and puffiness, dehydration around the eyes | Eyes that look tired, with more visible fine lines |
| Genosys SnowCell | Uneven tone, the look of sun spots, dullness | Skin prone to dark spots and uneven colour |
What Happens in a Genosys Session?
- Skin analysis: skin type, sensitivity, hydration and the products you use are assessed, and the right protocol is chosen.
- Cleansing: make-up and impurities are removed to prepare the skin.
- Preparation: toning and prep steps help the skin receive the actives.
- Actives: protocol-specific serums and ampoules are layered on.
- Mask and massage: a mask and gentle massage help the actives spread and relax the skin.
- Finish: moisturiser and sunscreen, plus home-care advice.
A session usually takes 45–75 minutes, and sessions are spaced out according to your skin and goals.
How Is It Different from Products at Home?
- The right choice: in the salon the protocol is matched to a skin analysis; at home people often buy by guesswork.
- Order and technique: layering order, waiting times and massage are a big part of the result.
- Follow-up: your specialist tracks how your skin responds between sessions and adjusts the plan.
Salon treatments do not replace home care; the best results come from a steady home routine plus periodic professional sessions.
Who Should Postpone a Genosys Treatment?
- Anyone with active inflamed acne, open wounds or infection,
- Anyone who recently had a peel, laser or a medical procedure (ask your specialist about timing),
- Anyone with a known ingredient allergy,
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding (suitability must be assessed).
Genosys vs Hydrafacial
Hydrafacial focuses on device-based deep cleansing, pore extraction and hydration. Genosys protocols are active-ingredient treatments aimed at a specific goal (ageing, eye area, uneven tone). Depending on your skin, both can be combined in one plan. See our Hydrafacial page.
